My name is Catherine B. Lim. I prefer to go by Cat, which is shorter, harder to butcher, and uniquely captures my fierce side (at least I think so). My significant other is a charming engineer named Jon. We are currently Inland whores, but we hope to move closer to the beach (as in a block or 2 closer) in a few short weeks. We have two cats, Casanova and Romeo, that I firmly believe possess the most unique and coolest personalities that could never be paralleled by the likes of any other feline.
I grew up in a small suburban town that you probably have never heard of, La Crescenta, CA. Ironically, after leaving what came to be known as "the bubble of LCr," a conservative town of mostly Asians, whites, and Armenians, I sort of began to miss it. Upon taking one glance at Riverside County, the charm and intimacy, not to mention, the fantastic air quality of LCr seemed more pronounced and appreciated than ever before. Not somewhere I'd return to permanently, but not a bad choice for experiencing the wonder years. I was "Student of the Year" as a grade school graduate, the most notable award a 6th grader could ever receive, and probably the highlight of my academic career. It has pretty much been downhill from there, culminating in my current undergraduate attendance at UCR. Aside from the obviously hick-oriented, ghetto-fied region which harbors this university, I have lost all hope in its inert administrative faculty, with which I have fought long and hard against regularly for 4 years to achieve my most basic academic needs. I will be earning two B.A.s in Political Science and Psychology from UCR in March 2007 and I will never look back.
I started my LiveJournal blog in April 2003, thanks to Brittany Coe from High School English Lit. class senior year, who gave me her code (check out her band, POM, btw, they rock!). This was when LiveJournal required codes to join. Since then, I have kept all of my journal entries, even the ones pertinent to people I have lost ties with or remind me of terrible memories because every once in while, I like to read old entries to gauge how much I've grown personally and lyrically. You will notice that my writing has matured notably since my teeny-bopper days of employing high-school-ebonics lingo to connote my senseless ranting. I still use some ebonics lingo and I still senselessly rant. I guess some things never change, but shieeeet, itz koo yanno?
